Upgrading to programmable thermostats, energy-efficient appliances, low-flow toilets, and additional insulation can be upfront expenses that pay off. Spread out the cost by selecting the upgrades that will give you the highest return and start with them first.
💸 LEVERAGE A HOME WARRANTY 💸
Large repairs can quickly add up! If you've recently purchased a home, you might have a home warranty that can cover the expenses of costly repairs to large appliances or even issues with your heating and A/C.

💸 DIY YOUR NEXT PROJECT 💸
Before you spend money on a professional landscaper, painter, or the like, is this a project you can do yourself? From mowing your own lawn to learning an easy home repair skill, you can save a significant amount of money each year!
💸 TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ALL TAX CREDITS 💸
Talk to your CPA to verify all that you might qualify for because there are deductions you might be able to take if you work from home, remodeled, or even installed solar panels. Also, don't forget to claim the homestead exemption for property taxes!

Home Mood Board

Thinking of redecorating, planning a remodel, or want to reimagine new life into an existing space?
Creating a mood board is a helpful first step! It can help you determine what you want out of a room as far as atmosphere & overall style. From there, you can plan the details & create the space you're dreaming of.
Here's how to create a home mood board:
📝 Step 1: Brainstorm the style and 'feeling' you want out of the room. Are you going for a masculine space? Light & airy? Bright & colorful? What is the overall vibe you're looking for?
🖼 Step 2: Collect photos and color swatches either cut out from magazines or printed from somewhere like Pinterest.
🎨 Step 3: Choose 1-2 colors from your images to be the main colors for the space. Then choose 2-4 colors that will complement your main color selections.
✨ Step 4: Place your color options on a piece of paper or poster board. Then, start adding photos from your stack in step 2. Choose photos that match the overall look you’re going for.
Once you're happy with a collection of images and colors - you have your mood board!
Now, for each style decision you make in the room, refer back to this mood board - everything from paint colors to furniture & decor pieces. Do they match the mood board?
This is how you'll create the room that is just what you set out for it to be!

If you struggle to concentrate or get stressed locating necessary paperwork, an organization of your office space might be just what you need!
Your physical environment can play a meaningful role in your mental health. 🤓 And by starting the year with an organized, dedicated space to "work" on what's important, you might find more clarity!
So, try these easy tips -
✔️ Start by sorting through what you no longer need. There's a reason the Marie Kondo method was binged on Netflix!
✔️ Clear off your desk or workspace! A clutter-free space will feel much lighter for you and your decor
✔️ Group like items together into categories and place them in storage bins and labeled folders
✔️ Put paperwork into binders or consider uploading to a cloud storage
✔️ Try a "To-Do," "In-Progress, and "Done" system for keeping track of projects with bins or hanging wall folders
✔️ Designate a space for tasks such as using your computer, crafting, homework, etc.
✔️ If you're using a multi-purpose area for your office, either set aside a spot or create a "mobile office space" using a cart with shelves
✔️ Get into the habit of picking up after you're done using the area for the day
If your space is messy, this might feel like an overwhelming task to begin with. But I promise, when you're done, it will be worth it!
