Thank you for tuning into a special episode of the Ideas for Real Estate podcast. But first I want to take you back in time with me. It was December of 2019 and my husband and I were on a fancy Christmas vacation to London and Paris. I'd brought along my macbook with me because I'd made a bold claim a few weeks earlier (in a real estate magazine interview!) that I was launching a podcast. So, there I was, up extra early, wrapped up in a hotel blanket and sitting at one of those tiny desks to work on my website, social, freebies, and content - all of which to accompany this new podcast.
Was I a little exhausted by the "unbalance" of work & life that I'd set for myself during that trip? Yes! But more than anything, I was excited about the possibilities ahead and that I was going to be able to share my passion for real estate marketing to help others. So, bit by bit that vacation, I worked on getting it all together, and eventually one evening - post a day of museums, shopping, and walking miles on end - I hit publish. And I'm not ashamed to say a few tears of joy rolled down my face. I'd taken the plunge and finally did it. So, my husband and I headed downstairs to the swanky cocktail bar in the hotel and had a glass of champagne to celebrate. And that's truly how Ideas for Real Estate began. It was messy. It wasn't glamorous. But it was important to me in how I show up for you.
Now, a lot has changed since that time! When I started, I was the CMO of a large real estate brokerage and moved into Ideas for Real Estate full-time in 2021.
Along the way, I was diagnosed with DDH and have had five major surgeries on my hips. I've worked on the podcast to keep my mind busy the nights I was so scared before my surgeries. It kept me positive during the long months I was on bed rest, couldn't walk, and was struggling. It's brought me so much joy to see how it has helped people all over the world. I've made incredible connections with people on social thanks to this podcast, who've truly become friends.
This podcast has been the little engine that could - moving forward despite a lot of setbacks.
Now, I feel like I'm at another crossroads in my personal and professional life. I am finally feeling so much better with my health and that I'm taking back control of my life. And Ideas for Real Estate is continuing to grow as a company. We launched our marketing membership, The Marketing Suite, almost a year ago, and it's been quite an incredible journey! We've helped so many gain confidence with their marketing and finally get the results they're looking for.
I couldn't be prouder of where we are today, but there's one thing I know deserves a refresh and to be its absolute best - and that's this podcast.
And that's exactly what we're doing - because the Ideas for Real Estate podcast is officially under construction. I want to bring you motivational, valuable content that you can apply to your business and that you can't wait to tune into. And to do that, it's time for a change! So, over the next couple of months, myself and my team will be busy working behind the scenes to record different content and take a new approach. You've seen us experiment with Marketing Mini episodes, live recordings of the podcast, and more. And I'll tell you the truth, I want it to be better, and I know it can be.
