Have you ever felt overwhelmed when it comes to social? Or wasted time not getting results from what you share? You're not alone, because many real estate agents struggle with what to post on social! But imagine if you had an entire week of strategically created posts designed to help you engage your sphere, attract new buyers and sellers, and brand yourself in your market. It doesn't have to be complicated, because in today's special episode I'm giving you everything you need to plan an entire week of engaging, modern social content.

Social is one of the most effective forms of marketing you can implement as a real estate agent. It's a direct connection to potential customers, a way for you to stay in touch with those you know, and an opportunity for lead generation. Yet, if your social strategy is sporadic or your posts are lacking, this marketing advantage can easily pass you by.

And in today's competitive market, it's more important than ever for you to differentiate yourself and foster relationships that can lead to closings. You need a consistent social strategy that is designed to attract attention, keep people interested, and lift you up. So, let's kick off your social strategy by planning a week of social content that works!

In today's episode, I'm giving you the blueprint to show up purposefully on social for an entire week. We'll walk through what to share each day, Monday through Sunday, and why that post works to get results. And to kick off your week, I'm empowering you with the exact social media posts that I walk you through in this episode. And I’m also sharing a week of free social posts you can download here!

What to Share on Social Each Day for Real Estate

Your social media strategy for Realtors should never be a random collection of posts. A jumble of posts (even beautiful ones!) don't build off each other and work to generate long-term results.

What you're looking to do is be strategic in what you share so that you attract and engage the right people. So, your plan needs to include content that is valuable, local to your market, and brands you authentically. That's exactly what we're doing in this week's plan. So, let's begin by covering ideas of what to share each day and why these kind of posts work.

    Monday's Social Post for Realtors:

    • What to Share: Kick off the week with a post that highlights and introduces you! That way, people can get to know you both professionally and personally.

    • Why it Works: I know that many agents feel awkward when promoting themselves or worried about coming across too salesy. But the reality is that people want to get to know you, and your life in real estate is interesting! Sharing these type of posts forms a human connection that leads to trust. You're letting them in by sharing a few details of your life personally while also highlighting yourself in real estate! In the free post template you can grab, I created a carousel post with prompts for you to fill in. Carousels can be attention grabbers on platforms like Instagram and further brand yourself with interesting content.

    • Tips to Increase Engagement: To introduce yourself in a modern way, don't shy away from showing up on camera with an image of yourself. This will help people remember you and get them more interested. Remember, this is an introduction post. If you met somebody at a networking event, you probably wouldn't immediately hand them a listing agreement to sell their home. The same goes for this post! This goal is for it to be a start of a conversation or a way to pop back into the minds of the people you already know. It's also an ideal post to pin at the top of your Instagram profile.

    Tuesday's Social Post for Realtors:

    • What to Share: Share a short-form video (Instagram or Facebook Reel or TikTok) that features a property. It could be an active listing, sold home, upcoming open house, or even a new construction model.

    • Why it Works: This style of content will stand out on social and potentially increase the views on your content. We also know that real estate and homes do incredibly well at capturing people's attention on social. When possible, working in actual properties in your local market serves to attract people who might be interested in buying and demonstrate to sellers how you market your listings.

    • Tips to Increase Engagement: If you don't have an active listing, don't forget that you can always share a home you sold a while ago, ask a friend to feature their listing, or head over to a new construction community to create content. And don't forget that today's post is a Reel or short-form video. You can easily create a Reel featuring a home using my free template in Canva, and when it comes to the home footage, you have options! One way to get the video content is to film it yourself on your phone, ask somebody to record a video walkthrough featuring you, or ask a real estate photographer for vertical video footage. Access my exclusive training on how to leverage Reels in your marketing.

    Wednesday's Social Post for Realtors:

    • What to Share: Mid-way through the week, show off your expertise while providing value by tackling a real estate education topic. In today's market, we're seeing more active inventory. But what impact does this have for both buyers and sellers, and what should they keep in mind for your local market? Share what more inventory means for both in a thoughtful carousel style post.

    • Why it Works: This post tackles a question people might be having - "What does more homes for sale mean for both buyers and sellers in XYZ area?" You'll answer the question by providing tips for each and following it up with a call-to-action about how you can help. This post further brands you as a local expert who can guide people through market conditions to reach their own goals.

    • Tips to Increase Engagement: Be sure to speak to your local market. This could be on the post itself or even in the caption. But don't forget that whenever you share real estate info, it pays to make it more relevant to your ideal buyer or seller. So, lean into hyperlocal content! Also, this post is another carousel. By using a carousel or multi-photo post, you're further enhancing the engagement factor of what you're sharing by making it more visually appealing.

    Thursday's Social Post for Realtors:

    • What to Share: Share another short-form video or Reel with a home decor inspired post. Share a beautiful room in a home, and point out how people can recreate the look in their own homes. The type of content you want to feature today is meant to entertain while being subtly related to real estate by being home decor-focused.

    • Why it Works: Not every post you share should be to actively target home buyers and sellers. If you do this, you're quickly going to lose the interest of your sphere! Incorporating content that relates back to the home but isn't about buying or selling a home keeps people interested. This is part of a longer-term strategy to stay connected to those you know for repeat and referral business while also providing content that people genuinely enjoy.

    • Tips to Increase Engagement: For this type of post to work it's best, you want the video you choose to be scroll-stopping. And don't forget to add an engaging caption to go along with it! For today's post, we're sharing a decor look that people can recreate within their own homes. So, while the footage features a dream-worthy home, the content is still approachable, and the ideas can be applied to anyone's home.

    Friday's Social Post for Realtors:

    • What to Share: Have some fun on Friday by sharing a behind-the-scenes of your day in the life of a Realtor! But instead of being general, we're going to focus on a specific topic. You'll share a "day in the life of marketing a listing."

    • Why it Works: This is an opportunity to brand yourself in real estate while also inviting people into your life. But instead of sharing just any day in real estate, we're specifically talking about how you go above and beyond to market a listing. This is a look into what you do while also being strategic to help impress potential sellers and give them insight into how you go above and beyond with your marketing. If you use my free post & caption, I'll walk you through a prompt that you can easily customize.

    • Tips to Increase Engagement: A key component of this post is to feature a photo of yourself. You could be working at a desk, on location at a listing, or you could even use a lifestyle image of yourself. By featuring a high-quality image featuring you, you're growing your brand and creating a human connection. So, don't be shy about showing up on camera for this one!

    Saturday's Social Post for Realtors:

    • What to Share: The weekends are an ideal opportunity to further brand yourself in your local community. So, try sharing how arts & culture in your area make a vibrant community. You can include a quick list of places people should check out, like a local museum, theater, art gallery, or more hotspots where creativity is showcased in your local area.

    • Why it Works: Sharing content about your local community works for your entire social strategy! It positions you as an expert in the area, which is appealing to both buyers and sellers. It also works to stay relevant to the people you know because you're providing unique local content that they care about as well! It's hyper-local, relevant, and you're the one in the know who's sharing this valuable content!

    • Tips to Increase Engagement: To further expand your reach, you can tag the local business and spots that you mention in your caption or on the post itself. This might encourage these accounts to re-share your content which introduces you to an entirely new set of people! To take it one step further, you can also use the free template to feature an image that's recognizable to your local area. For example, if there's a place that has murals on local businesses, share that. Or try an image of you visiting an art museum! All of these strategies further brand you in your local community and make you stand out!

    Sunday's Social Post for Realtors:

    • What to Share: Round out the week with one final post focused on providing value. For today's topic, you'll share "5 Smart Ways to Save as an (insert area) Homeowner." Then, in your caption, share ideas that people can leverage to save a little money at home - a topic many are interested in right now!

    • Why it Works: This type of content positions you as a real estate advisor beyond the closing table. Yes, you can guide people to buy or sell a home, but beyond that, you're there to continue to help. By sharing tips like this, you further stay connected to your sphere and people who might not be ready to sell their current home quite yet.

    • Tips to Increase Engagement: To make this post even more relevant, be sure to include your local market. If you use my free template, I add a prompt for you to do just that in the Canva graphic, so it pops on the feed. This takes your content from just general real estate advice that anyone could share to local content that works to build your brand in your local market.

If you take an approach like this to planning your week of content, you'll have a focused strategy that works on many different levels. It brands you as a local expert, attracts new customers, provides value to those you know, and is engaging all around.
