The advantage of using LinkedIn as a real estate agent

There are three top reasons that LinkedIn is an overlooked advantage that real estate pros should be tapping into.

First, LinkedIn leverages various Google SEO practices, which allow you to elevate the visibility and ranking of your LinkedIn profile without too much effort. This helps your profile appear closer to the top of search results related to your expertise and what you can offer your clients.

LinkedIn also offers great opportunity, as not many users are consistently generating content on the platform, making it easier for those who do add valuable content to more easily stand out above the noise.

And finally, LinkedIn can also be the place to connect with more of your target customer and those who are in a position to be interested in buying or selling real estate, as you can find business decision-makers and professionals with an average annual income of $78k. This can make it an ideal place to find prospective clients for more luxurious properties and to drive sales to grow your business.

Leveraging the power of SEO and Google results with your LinkedIn profile

Your headline and summary on LinkedIn play a crucial role in 70% of LinkedIn and Google SEO.

So, if you want to target specific keywords, it's essential to incorporate them in your headline and summary. The remaining 30% of SEO is influenced by your work summary, so keeping it up-to-date and including relevant information for your target audience and the services you provide is equally important.

When updating your work experiences, be sure to include relevant keywords, such as where you’re located and how you can help buyers and sellers with their real estate needs. LinkedIn uses these keywords to match your profile with potential clients or employers. For instance, if you specialize in luxury real estate, LinkedIn will show your profile to users interested in that niche.

Optimizing your profile with the right keywords can significantly enhance your discoverability and reach, allowing you to be found and create more connections with the right audience.

How to connect and start conversations with your ideal homebuyer or seller using LinkedIn

There are analytics on LinkedIn where you will be able to see who visited your LinkedIn profile, so you will be able to connect with and DM those that you know are already interested in you.

If there are people liking or commenting on your posts, Salina recommends saying something like, "Hi, I wanted to break the ice of social media and say thank you for engaging with my posts. If you happen to be interested in (insert service or property), let's have a chat." It's very open-ended and not salesy - your sparking conversation.

Also, when you request to connect or visit the profile of those who have visited yours, it will help your content and your profile show up for them more on the platform.

Another option is to use keywords to find and register for relevant events found on LinkedIn. By joining events tailored to your niche, like "Miami waterfront properties" or "luxury real estate," it will allow you to connect with other attendees who could be potential clients, and who you know are part of your ideal audience.

The 3 types of content you should be sharing and repurposing

Try to repurpose some of the content pieces that are performing really well on Instagram or other social media channels over to LinkedIn. When you go to someone's social media profile, what makes someone want to follow you? Oftentimes, it’s educational content that adds value.

There are three formats that are easy to use for cross-promotion on multiple social channels. One of them is Instagram Reels - Reels do really well on Instagram, and LinkedIn also has LinkedIn short videos that will give you visibility on the platform.

You can also do the exact same repurposing for Instagram carousels, but a protip is to customize the very last page for your LinkedIn audience to encourage them to follow you or connect with you further on LinkedIn.

You can also use your Instagram images on LinkedIn - content that would drive emotion and inspire people to take action and follow you because they're getting to know you more personally in addition to the other content you are sharing.
